Andrew Martin - First steps in pawn structures Empty First steps in pawn structures by Andrew Martin CBFT MP4

Post  ChessCaissa on Mon Oct 08, 2018 1:22 am

Understanding how to use pawns and how to handle different pawn structures are important topics for young or improving players to consider. On this new ChessBase DVD, IM and FIDE Senior Trainer Andrew Martin investigates the notion that ‘pawns are the soul of chess’ and tries to explain exactly what this means. The effective use of pawns in the opening leads to the correct development of the pieces and a good game springs naturally from there. The pawn structure must be considered throughout the game and this is something that Martin also touches upon. The viewer will be treated to a tour of excellent games, both old and new, many from the period 2012-2014, which highlight key ideas about the correct use of pawns and from which one cannot fail to improve one’s technique. Thus this DVD is ideal for players below 1800 or indeed ambitious players of any level.

Christophe12345 wrote:Hi ... this is a protected stream. How do i solve this ?

I have posted this guidance several times in different threads but here goes again. Read the CAREFULLY and follow ALL the steps slowly and accurately and you will be able to bypass the Chessbase protection. You MUST run the CBFT patcher as described (including points a,b,c, and d) and also must have the relevant PROT file in your streams folder  - the CBFT Patcher is not enough you MUST also do the bit with the PROT file.
NOTE: If your CB or Fritz (whatever program you are trying to use to watch it) is already activated or you have bought a legitimate version (not a pirate downloaded one) you can miss (1) and just do (2).

Procedure to apply patch and play protected CBFTs and SDVLs of chessbase.

CBFT (Chess Base Fritz Trainer == Full DVD with audio and video) and SDVL (Super Duper Video Less == DVDs with only audio and no video)s are commercial products from chessbase and the video streams are encrypted. This doesn't apply to CBFTs converted into pure MP4 format, you can just play those with any video player - it applies only to actual CBFT and SDVLs.  CBFTs and SDVLs can be played only from chessbase based GUI i.e, any chessbase based product like chessbase 14, fritz 12, chessbase reader, komodo 12, etc.

If your CB or Fritz is already activated - or you have bought a legitimate version (not a pirate downloaded one) - you can go to point (2) and skip (1). These instructions look complex but are actually very simple (thousands of people have done this ) and you only need to do it once. If you download CBFTs or SDVLs from here or anywhere else, this is the process you will need to follow to be able to fully watch them (the only exception is very old CBFTs before protection was implemented by CB or the CBFT "60 minute").

1)  To activate your Chessbase or Fritz

To activate your CB or Fritz GUI so that it works fully then you run the CB-medicine v2.8. This does NOT allow you to watch the protected CBFT videos it just activates the GUI. If you are activating CB then choose the appropriate number 12,13,14, 15 etc from the GUI drop down. So for ChessBase 15 choose "Chessbase 15" for Fritz 16 choose "chess program 16" and so on".  Unless you particularly want to activate an engine then in the engine drop down choose "None".

Then choose the activation method "built in activation" at bottom left. Now do "new serial" and "copy"  but don't exit and try to use that serial yet. Make a note of that serial somewhere.   You now click "activate" at bottom left of the k*ygen.  Now a little grey box opens at top left of screen and tells you to fill in the 4 characters in the CB admin tool. DO not click OK yet and leave that box open.  The CB Admin tool is the larger grey box  with the green stripe across the middle. In that one you type in the 4 characters that are showing in the GREEN bar into the box below where it says "enter the code shown below". Now press OK at bottom of THAT large box.   Now back in the small grey box at top left which should still be open as you left it you click OK and it should tell you activation is done.

Download the CB-medicine v2.8 from here:
Code:
https://www6.zippyshare.com/v/rBO2uPDy/file.html
Code:
https://www.solidfiles.com/v/KpAkaA8rNgAyN

2)  To play protected CBFT and SDVL

Now, if you ALSO want to watch any commercial and copy protected CBFT (Chessbase Fritz Trainer) DVDs the medicine is not enough. You also need to run the CBFT patcher after you have run the medicine. You can download that the latest version of the CBFT patcher with full instructions here:
Code:
Code:
https://www89.zippyshare.com/v/GggNk7Mk/file.html
Code:
https://www.solidfiles.com/v/r6NDpmBr5ggVM

IMPORTANT: as well as running the CBFT patcher, you also need to make sure you put the specific PROT file for the DVD you want to watch into your "streams" folder otherwise it won't work, even after running the CBFT patcher. The streams folder is at C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\ChessBase\Streams. If it doesn't already exist then create it. Every CBFT DVD has a unique PROT file - you must have that and put it in the "streams" folder. The PROT will always be posted when someone shares a CBFT.

The streams folder MUST be at this location – it cannot be anywhere else otherwise it won’t work. If it doesn't already exist then create it there

NOTE: By default the “AppData” folder is hidden in Windows so in order to be able to see it you must  enable to see hidden folders.  Open File Explorer select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and OK.  Now you can see the app data directory and can make sure your “streams “ folder is in the correct place.

An easy way is to install ALL prot files in one go. Here are all prot files up to February 2019. Put all these in your STREAMS folder ( C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\ChessBase\Streams) then you'll be able to play all CBFT and SDVL up to that date (of course assuming you have run the CBFT patcher correctly) and then just add any new ones to it that were released since that date:

All prot files up to February 2019
Code:
Code:
https://www.solidfiles.com/v/xKy4dRykAmBQY

PLEASE READ - Some other important guidelines:

a) The CBFT-Patch.exe must be INSIDE the ChessBase program folder before you run it - unlike the CB medicine you can't just run it from your desktop or anywhere. So for ChessBase 15 you need to actually copy/paste the CBFT into this folder and then run it from there:C:\Program Files\ChessBase\CBase15. For Fritz 16 you need to actually copy/paste the CBFT into this folder and then run it from there: C:\Program Files\ChessBase\ChessProgram16)."

b) Before you run the CBFT patcher you must have run the CB-medicine first to activate your CB or Fritz otherwise it won't work.

c) The CB or Fritz you are trying to patch must NOT be running or open when you apply the CBFT patch - it must be closed not open.d) When you run the CBFT patch make sure you run as administrator - right click and choose run as administrator.

d)  IMPORTANT - for you to note if you are new to this - you should only run the CBFT-Patcher once not for each DVD you install. In fact if you run the CBFT-Patch a second time it will "un-patch" the program reverting it back to its original state. The only exception to this is if you apply any actual software updates in CB or Fritz then you must re-run the CBFT-Patcher again ONCE after each update. This is unlike the CB-medicine for activating CB or Fritz, which you only ever run once and don't need to re-run even after program updates.

Look at my post a few above yours (Sat Jan 05, 2019 7:54 pm) there I have uploaded the MP4 files in one zippyshare link.  The link is not clickable you have to copy and paste into a web browser - I post links this way as it avoids the ad.fly and advertising stuff that gets attached to links if you post them directly. Hello,

I was wondering if it might be possible to repost new links for the CBFT. The original ones appear to be dead.

I have the SDVL.
